Certificate III in Community Services

Aim
To reflect the role of entry level community service workers who support individuals through the provision of person-centred services. Work may include day-to-day support of individuals in community settings or support the implementation of specific community-based programs.

The delivery of the units will be off-the-job, with the training sessions held at Transforming Training’s inMarrara. Delivery methods include:

  • lectures
  • discussion
  • brainstorming
  • individual research
  • presentations

Entry Requirements
There are no special entry requirements for this qualification, however preference will be given to graduates of Certificate II qualifications working in the Community Services sector.

An Ochre Card will be essential if working with children.

Fees
This course is currently subsided by the Northern Territory Department of Trade, Business and Innovation for residents of the Northern Territory. More information and eligibility criteria can be found here.

This course will include a $220 non-refundable administration fee which must be received before course commencement.

The 5 core units and 7 electives must be completed in order to finish the course.

CHCCCS009 – Facilitate responsible behavior
CHCMHS001 – Work with people with mental health issues
CHCPRP001 – Develop and maintain networks and collaborative partnerships
CHCPRT001 – Identify and respond to children and young people at risk
CHCVOL001 – Be an effective volunteer
CHCYTH001 – Engage respectfully with young people
